Format:
For the fourth season in a row, while other organizations keep raising their tournament fees our will remain constant. All tournaments are  $250 per tournament.  For any team pre-registering and paying in full for 4 tournaments, the package price is $900.  Clubs registering different teams in varying age groups are also eligible for this discount as a club.

Please note that this only applies to teams or organizations paying the package price in advance.  Deadline for the SUMMER package deal is April 20st, 2007.

All tournaments will be played over Saturday and Sunday only.  There will be no Friday games.  This will allow all out of town teams to save on the necessity of spending the extra evening in a hotel thus limiting expenses.  Local teams can expect to begin play as early as 8AM on a Saturday morning and out of area teams will be expected to start no earlier than 10:10 AM Saturday morning. This is a unique feature of Texas Basketball.

All tournaments  are 4 game guarantees,  However many teams will receive 5 games if they win in bracket play.

Texas Basketball Inc. will present  medals for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. The individual medals will be custom and unique, a true tribute to the local flavor of our tournaments .

Contact the office with additional questions or simply register online.
Please register early in order that we may attempt to facilitate as many special requests as possible.

Rules:

 1. All rules as outlined by the governing body for high school basketball, the Texas UIL will be followed, with the following exceptions and amendments.

     * There will be two 14 minute STOP clock halves.
If one team is leading by more than 20 points in the second half, the clock will continue
to run for the remainder of the game.  If at any time in the second half the team trailing narrows the score back to 15 points or less, then the stop clock will resume.

      * Clock stops on all injuries, and timeouts

       * Boys grades 4th-6th will use the girls ball.

       * Game time is forfeit time. (Mitigating circumstances may be considered in rare cases.)

       * 3 full timeouts per game.

       * 5 minute minimum pre-game warm-up

       * Overtime will be two minutes stop time, with one additional timeout awarded.
Timeouts do not carry over from regulation time.

       * 3 minute halftime break

*First team listed on the schedule is the home team and shall wear white.
In bracket play, the team listed on top is home and shall wear  white.

*Teams should have their "book" available for inspection if requested by another coach.
Grade cards must be available for each player. The only procedure to be followed for challenges is as follows:

         A. Challenging coach puts up a $50 challenge fee PRIOR to the beginning of their game.  The coach must designate and challenge a particular player's eligibility, not the opposing team in general. If supporting documents on a player are not available then the player in question is removed from the roster for the duration of the tournament, or until supporting documents are provided.  At that point, the challenging coach receives his $50 back. If the challenge is deemed to have no validity, then the $50 will go into the Texas Basketball Inc. general scholarship fund.

 2. All games will be officiated by experienced officials, many who have high school and college game experience.

 3. Teams provide their own balls.  NO LOOSE BALLS IN THE SCHOOL AT ANY TIME!

 4. Each team must provide either a clock operator or a scorekeeper for every game.

 5. Officials at their discretion may remove players, parents, or fans from the gym for inappropriate behavior or poor sportsmanship.

 6. Final rosters are to be set and turned in on the score sheet for the first game of the tournament.   Players may play on only more than one team in the tournament.  However, a player may NEVER play DOWN in grade, only UP.  Specific documentation must be provided for that player and he must be approved PRIOR to the start of the weekend's tournament for approval.

 7. Tournament eligibility is grade based, not age based.  A player may play up in grade, but may not play down.

 8. Schedules will be posted on the website no later than Wednesday prior to the tournament.  No games are played on Fridays, our unique format will enable traveling teams to trim a night's accommodations off their expenses if they wish.  Out of town teams will start their first game at 10:10 AM Saturday or later, unless they request an earlier start time.  Local teams can expect to start at 8AM Saturday.   This is a feature unique to Texas Basketball tournaments.

  9. No refunds are given for Acts of God, such as power outages, floods, etc.

10. All decisions of the Site Director are final.

REFUND POLICY

1. Any team registering for a single tournament and that tournament doesn't "make" in the appropriate grade level will have their entry fee applied to another tournament of their choice.  Whether you have registered for a single tournament or if you have registered for a package, any remaining tournaments will be "banked" including over to the following season, if necessary.

2. Any team registering for a single tournament and find that they must cancel for some reason will be handled as follows:

A) If notice is given 7 days prior to tournament, tournament fee will be "banked" and may be used for a future tournament.  This can be used for later in the season, or in the case of late season cancellations, will be carried over to the following year.

B) If notice is given with less than 7 days remaining from the tournament start date shall forfeit their entry fee, unless Texas Basketball Inc. is able to locate a replacement team.

**This includes tournament locations that have to be changed or moved based upon registrations at a particular grade level or an entire tournament offering. Texas Basketball will give the registrant an update no later than the Tuesday prior to the tournament.

eg.  A tournament in San Antonio may be combined with an Austin tournament, or vice versa

THERE ARE NO CASH REFUNDS

Texas Basketball Inc. will do everything possible to ensure that the guaranteed number of games are played.  However, we cannot be responsible for forfeits due to the negligence of another team.  These forfeited games (if any) will count as part of the requirement. Please note that this rarely happens.

In the spirit of making sure everyone gets value for their money and gets to use it as expediently as possible if they have banked credit the amount banked may also be used in our fall events, transferred to another team (if you can find a replacement) or as tuition to one of our All American Camps.

This is our 8th year of doing business. It has been built on honesty, integrity and giving folks a variety of basketball options to choose from.

Thanks,

Coach Max
