Chip capped his high school career as a three year starter and three time 26-4A All District player. Playing his senior year at State powerhouse Pflugerville Connally, he was an integral part of their amazing run to the Regional Final before losing on a last second free throw before losing to San Antonio Brackenridge. As Mr. Outside he teamed with Senior Antwan Williams (signed with Texas State) and Junior Prizell Brown as Connally's Mr. Insides. In the Regional Semis they played the favored Boerne Greyhounds and their 7'1" center and Baylor University commit Big Josh Loemers. Loemers was never a factor until it was too late as 6'0" shooting guard Chip Ivany stole the show in front of a crowd of 2000 at Dripping Springs H.S. Ivany hit six 3 pointers, and finished with 23 points as the Connally basketball program reached new heights. All this while shutting down the Boerne point guards. Chip finished his varsity career as an honor roll student with over 1200 Varsity points and in May signed with Hill Junior College in one of the Nation's top JuCo leagues, the North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference. After one year at Hill College, Chip has gone on to play with the University of South Alabama and Coach Ronnie Arrow in the Sunbelt Conference. Chip aspires to be a college coach. He is a great team mate and a wonderful son.
